Acronis Backup Strategy Webinar for SMBs confidence is not proof
Most SMB backup reporting tells you the jobs succeeded. It does not tell you whether you could restore the business next week. This 45-minute session walks through immutable, tested, evidenced backup built on Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud — what is covered, where each copy lives, and what a restore test should produce on paper.
- Know which copy actually surviveswe map copy topology workload by workload and cover what immutability does and does not mean. Acronis defines immutable backup as data stored read-only using WORM technology so it cannot be changed or deleted, with copies replicable across storage media for version control and auditing. Immutable is not the same as air-gapped, and we keep that distinction straight.
- Leave with a restore-test cadence, not a promisehow often to test, which workloads get tested first, and what artifacts the test produces that a board member or an assessor can read without a translator.
- Cover the collaboration suite explicitlythe Acronis Cyberthreats Report H2 2025 reports advanced attacks in collaboration tools rose from 12% in 2024 to 31% in 2025. We treat Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace tenant data as a line item in the workload table, not a footnote.
- Harden the console that holds your last copyMFA, role separation and least privilege on the backup console itself. The same Acronis report states at least 150 MSPs and telcos were hit by ransomware, with phishing (52%) and unpatched vulnerabilities (27%) as the top access vectors. Anyone managing your backups should be able to explain how they protect their own stack.
- Get an honest boundary around what backup fixesrecovery capability reduces an attacker's leverage over encryption. It does not address stolen data. Coveware by Veeam's Q2 2026 report puts the average ransom payment at $1,880,612, up 176% from Q1, while the median fell 50% to $150,000 — Veeam notes the distribution is skewed by a small number of very large payments, so both figures matter — and the data-exfiltration-only payment rate at a historically low 15%.

What we actually cover
What people bring to this session.
We back up every night — isn't that enough?
Veeam's 2025 Ransomware Trends Report (survey fielded 2024–2025) found 89% of organizations had their backup repositories targeted by ransomware actors, and that on average 34% of backup repositories were modified or deleted by attackers. The session covers why a backup claim without immutability and retention enforcement behind it is a weak claim, and how to close that gap on your current workloads.
How would I know we could really recover?
Veeam's Data Trust and Resilience Report 2026 found 90% of security leaders believe they can recover quickly, but among organizations hit by ransomware where operations or data were affected, only 28% fully recovered all affected data and 44% recovered less than 75%. Those recovery figures apply only to that affected group — not to everyone. We spend most of the session on moving from expectation to evidence: tested recovery objectives per workload tier, with dated results.
Is anyone really targeting a company our size?
Acronis reported that publicly known ransomware victims from January to June 2025 surged by nearly 70% compared with the same period in both 2023 and 2024, totaling 3,642 claimed victims. Veeam's 2026 report also found 42% of organizations that experienced a cyber incident reported customer or constituent impact, so the damage rarely stays inside IT.
Does this take care of our compliance requirement?
Straight answer: backup supports specific controls and produces evidence for them. It does not make an organization compliant, and no one on this call will tell you otherwise. We will also flag where questions about data residency, service tier and authorization status need written confirmation from the vendor before you rely on them — that applies to any regulated or contract-driven data set.
Before you register
Common questions
- Is this a product pitch for Acronis?
- Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud is the spine of what we walk through, and palmiq is an Acronis Platinum partner, top 1% globally. Capability, tier and retention specifics are verified against current Acronis documentation at session time, because feature names and packaging change between releases.
- Do we have to be an Acronis customer already?
- No. The structure — workloads covered, copy topology, immutability and retention enforcement, tested recovery objectives, test cadence, reporting artifacts — applies to whatever you run today.
- Will you quote our recovery times on the call?
- No. Any RPO or RTO figure we put in writing comes from palmiq's own service definitions measured against your workloads, not from a vendor benchmark. On the call we show you how those figures get established and tested.
- Who should be in the room?
- The person accountable for downtime and the person who holds credentials to the backup console. 45 minutes, live, with time for questions specific to your environment.
